an iron rail road spike found near the marfa tracks

i sandblasted the rust off, masked the head and suspended it by a magnet so i could powder coat. next, i took it over to mac white's shop and used his fancy belt sander to polish the head to a mirror finish

i will likely never do this again. magnets die in the oven and drilling a hole in these ruins them aesthetically
